buried fighting conch

this guy is in my 29g cube. he buried himself in the sand with just the tip of his probe sticking up. he's been that way for about a week. is this typical? he used to cruise around all the time and only stayed buried for a couple of days at a time.

He is probably fine, but unfortunately saltwater inverts can meet their demise without any real signs beforehand. If he stays that way for any extended amount of time, reach in and check him. I personally wouldn't, I feel that when a snail dies, I just get more and a hermit will probably steal that shell anyway...

he popped out for a minute last night and seemed fine. i don't have any hermits in this tank so if something dies, i gotta get right on it!
