Blue Mushroom Question

I have a blue mushroom and it recently moved about an inch from where it was attached to a rock. It left behind a piece of its "foot" that is a little bigger than 1/8" in diameter. I have heard that if they do this that piece will grow into another mushroom. I was wondering if anyone has had success with this before. Thanks in advance for the help.

I've never had a blue mushroom before, but i have had a purple and red and from my exp, yes it will sprout into a full shroom. They are similar to Xenia, if any piece of it lives, then it'll sprout into a full polyp or shroom. This is contrary to any other coral, but that's why they are unique.

Cool I was thinking about fragging it before but I am super scared because I have never fragged anything before.
