I would only caution those to read the information on the product carefully. Nitra Zorb for example, is recommended for freshwater only. It must on occasion be recharged and,,, this is done by soaking the pouch that product comes in,,, in a solution of salt ,which releases that which the product has absorbed. Obviously, if you were to treat a freshwater tank for parasites or Illness with salt ,and not remove the product before doing so,, then product would be capable of releasing what it has absorbed back into the aquarium and at undesireable quantities. In marine tank,, product would have little use I would think.
