Yellow Lab Questions????????????????????????????????

I have a pair? of 1 inch yellow labs that i just got today for a 29. The only other thing in there is a 7 inch pleco. Here are my questions.

How big will they get?

Will this tank fit for long?

The one i have seperated because it appears to have kin in its mouth. What do i do here? she is seperated by a tank divider and i have a breeder intank tank.

How long will she hold the babies?

Is there a way to tell if i did get a male and not t2 females?

If so what is it?

Here are pics of the tank and the one with babies in its mouth.

Any help will be apreciated

Itoo, have yellow labs, both varieties. As with almost all of my mouth brooders, I would strip my female (take the eggs away from her). I would placew the fry in a 2 1/2g tank with a sponge filter, an air stone, and med the tank with an antifungicide such as methyline blue. The tank needs no gravel. I the segregate my female for a couple of weeks to allow her to gain her strength and allow her to recover from the rigors of spawning.

would a 3 way plastic breed act as the same as the 2 1/2 gallon or do i need to fing a sponge filter for a 10 gallon as that is the smallest avelable.

My mom is afraid i would hurt her as she is barely an inch

and is a 29 gallon big enough for a full grown pair?

i asked herefishy on what surface do they breed on and he replied, " Labs, like so many other mbuna, will dig a pit in which the female will lay her eggs. The male will then fertilize the eggs afterwhich the female will pick up the fertilized eggs. No slate is needed. If you ever get a chance to watch an sexually active male mbuna, you will see he becomes a real excavater at spawning time. He will really tear up a tank's substrate."
when i asked him if a under gravel filter would work with this he said, "In tanks where I use ugf's with cichlids, I use a fine cheese clothe glued to the ugf to prevent any problems. As silly as it may sound it works. I also use revers flow powerheads in almowt all of my tanks when using ugf's."

Today i took 1 fry out of her mouth as i figured out how. I only took 1 to make sure that they were at the correct stage. But i dont think that they are. The one fry still had what looked to be a yoke sack attached and did not look fully formed so does any one kno how much longer i will have to wait?

I am still new to this i could use all the help u can give me.

Maybe I Missed something but....why are you taking the fry out of her mouth? You should probably just leave her alone and let her do her thing - she knows what she's doing.....

90gal: 2x Tangerine Discus, 2x Clown Pleco, 2x Catfish.
75gal + 10gal sump: 2x Large Goldfish, 1x Common Pleco, 14x Leopard Danios
