Wish I could find a Red Breasted Acara

Why are they so difficult to find? I've gone to 5 pet and/or fish stores, and no one has any. Yet, my friend in Jersey says they are sometimes in her local Petsmart. Has anyone else noticed they are hard to find where you are? I've been looking for one for months now.

10 gallon- 8 Harlequin Rasboras, 1 female betta.

20 gallonH - 1 Peacock Gudgeon, 2 Skunk Cories, 1 Sparkling Gourami. , one male betta, 2 nerite snails.

55 gallon - 3 Turquoise Rainbows, 1 Boesemani Rainbow, 2 Australian Rainbow, 4 Gold Dust mollies, 1 L. Dorsigera, 2 White Cloud Mountain Minnows, 1 Honey Gourami, 3 Cherry barb, 1 Koi Angelfish, 4 female betta.

If one petsmart can get one, they all can. They're a big chain and all use the same supplier.

Do research and look up a list of all it's common names, and scientific names (old and new). Print it out, and bring it to the petsmart manager.

Chain stores in my area will special order fish. The smaller mom & pop type places might require a deposit (refundable) but they usually will special order as well.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Perhaps that petsmart that has a local breeder selling to them?
