So I'm planning on getting a 75gallon tank for a Ablino Tiger Oscar (all this is a long term goal) and I'm doing research and I was looking for information on tank mates. Preferably a type Plecostamus, since I hear they get along pretty well with Oscars and would help with clean up a little.

What species would be the best to stick with an Oscar and a tank of that size? And how should I introduce them to one another? Should I put them in at the same time, or can I add one after the other, etc. I can't find specific information about that. :S And there are so many species of Plecostamus that I'm kinda at a loss... I want to start researching the tank mate too so that I will be able to take care of them both properly :P

Well, I think you should probably look into a medium-sized pleco. The standard common pleco can grow to 18" which is really pushing it even in a 75g tank. On the other hand, you don't want a really small species as the oscar might try to eat it once he's large enough. Maybe a Trinidad pleco?

Other good tankmates would be other cichlids in the same general range of aggression. Jack Dempseys, Texas cichlids, green terrors, convicts, etc.

How about Jaguar Cichlids, they can fend for themselves and ward off the attack of the Oscar. Give them enough space or they will fight.

Were it me, I might consider a member of the Synodontis Catfish family. Plecos are often considered as cleanup fish but considering the waste(poop) they create ,, They often only increase the load of waste in the tank.

Oscars will work great with a lot of different fish. In your case, 1 Oscar in a 75g...Id go with a Common Pleco.
