What should I be feeding my African Cichlids?

I beleive the three species I have (yellow Labs, Red Zebra, Salousi) are all Ominovore fish.

Any good name brands? What shhould be the main staple in their diet? What should I give as treats? I've read that I should make sure the food (flakes/pellets) should not be too high in protein....whats the % I should look for? Thanks!

The only pellets I feed my cichlids are New Life Spectrum. I also feed them the occasional frozen blood worm cube or Mysis shrimp cube.

The pellet brand I highly recommend though would be the New Life Spectrum brand.

Thanks! Is their a specific kind within the brand name or does New Life Spectrum just make one type of pellet for Cichlids?

You should be using the "Cichlid Forumla", they make multiple products but you should be going for the one that is designed specifically for Cichlids.
