Veil fin Oscar seems ... sick?

We have 2 veil fin oscars. Our old one is swimming around and he's doing great. But our new one is laying on his side at the back corner of our tank. He was great yesterday. But this morning he wouldn't come up for food and he's just been laying there all day. His gils are moving and he looks around, and he scooted away when i stuck my hand near him so he's alive, he just doesn't seem to be feeling so hot.

Any thoughts? I did a water test and ammonia and all the other great stuff is within the normal ranges. And as previously stated our other Oscar is fine. They're both in a 55 gallon tank and the temperature is 79 degrees f. We aren't too sure on what we should be doing for him, if anything at all. Or if maybe he's just chilling back there. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated!

Update:

Thanks to my girlfriend for posting for me while I was at work.

Seems the veil fin is lying on his side/belly and not moving around much. He came up halfway through the tank and went back down to the gravel. There is no visible injury/anomalies in the Oscar. I have heard (not sure how true it is) that sometimes oscars get the fish equivalent of indigestion. Could this be it?

Ammonia is 0.
Nitrite is 0.
Nitrate is 20ppm.
Temperature is currently 79.7 degrees F.

All other fish are doing fine.

i dont know what to do but it sounds similar to what happened to my angel(she died). I hope this is not it

I am almost positive that the fish has gill disease. He is panting for air alomst constantly. I administered a dose of Maracyn a while ago and he seems to be a little more... like himself.

Still, any other thoughts would be appreciated.

When you first move an Oscar to a tank or change around decorations, they'll lie on their side/stomach for a little while. They just need to get used to the changes. My young Oscar, Poe, did that for weeks on end after he was fine the week we brought him home. We asked the people at the pet store and they said we're doing everything right. We bought him a different light, this one has a cloudy bulb rather than a white one, and removed the large cave-like structure taking up almost all the tank. We put in a small decoration and added another small plastic plant (There are now three.). He know swims about happily and interacts with whoever's in my room. He likes to jump for his food and play chase with your finger outside the glass. He's bubbling with personality and all it took was removing a space-consuming decoration. Hope this helps!

could it be gill flukes? If so ur other one has been exposed to it, and you should treat the whole tank, If you don't have any inverts In there i would recomend this http://www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store....b81cbea224.jpg it works on alot of stuff, but is especially great for flukes!

I dont think his envirnment has much to do with his illness because he's in a hospital tank now and he is still acting sick. He still turns down food and doing all the aformentioned things.
