Trying to decide which african cichids to add

I am in the process of setting up my 37 gallon cichlid tank. I am very indecisive with what african cichlids to add. I dont want to get to many because then they wont grow to their potential. I was wanting to have anywhere from 5-8 so I could get a good variety of species. What would be some good cichlids to add to my tank?

Your decision of African Cichlids was a great choice! However, you will be moving to a larger tank in a year when the fish are adults. I had a 37 gallon African Cichlid aquarium, but now I'm moving to a much larger aquarium. I originally had six fish, but now I have 14 because they breed so easy! Best of luck to you!

Small shell dwellers only for a tank that size.

Cichlids are active fish and depending on what you get, extremely aggressive. A 55g tank or larger is preferred for them.

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)
