Cant help with sexing the oscar, but i will add my 2 cents to the rest.............If you plan on breeding the convicts your gonna need a at least a 10 gallon to put them in......Dont let them breed with the oscar in the same tank.........There is a very good chance they will kill the oscar, even if he is twice there size.....Breeding convicts are VERY,VERY aggressive towards other fish..........The idea of feeding the oscar feeder fish that you bought somewhere is not a good one.........The only time i would feed any of my cichlids live fish, was if i breed them myself.......Introducing a possible parasite into your tank is not wise........It could lead to death for all fish involved.........If your gonna put the convicts in with your oscar, your gonna need something on the lines of a 100 gallon tank.............a 75 is an ideal size for a single oscar but with tankmates you will need a larger tank........Oscars have a huge bio-load...........

The convicts will not go in with the oscar. I'm going to get him a pingpong ball. lol
I was planning on breeding the convicts in the ten gal, anyways.
I read that they'll eat the eggs to the point none will survive, but I've also read they'll take good care.
Depends on the Convicts?
Also, how do you tell the difference between male and femal convicts?
Thanks for everyone's help!

I got rid of all the fish other than the oscars. My friend bought the oscars from me recently. SO I resorted to african cichlids.
