Hi all,
New to the game as other posts in the setup forum would suggest.
I have just bought 3 x Tapajos Orange Head Chichlids
I am told the scientific name is Greophagus Ria Tapojos these are about 1 1/2 inches long and have been put into a tank with 4 young angles (1 inch to 1 1/2 inch) and a couple of spotted cats.
Tank is 4 x 2 x 2 and just coming off its first cycle.
Can anybody tell me about these fish and what to expect, I must admit it was an impulse buy sort of (they had an adult which was caught my eye), The guy at the shop said they were placid for a Chichlid and I should be Ok as long as I kept egg layers.
Q's : How big will they grow, I am niot worried at the moment about the population of the tank but I don't want to overstock juvenilles.
Q: How long will they live
Q: Any other things to be carefull ofF.
I am proposing frozen food 1 day a week (brine shrimp) and granules 5 days a week plus a day off.
My intention is a Chichlid tank with fewer larger specimen fish,
Q. How many Chichlids, ie ) angles, small catfish etc can this tank support. (filtration is a Fluval extern 405 cannister & internal powerhead fitted with sponge filter approximately 1 foot long rated at 1200 l/hr)
Any help, Any suggestions welcome.
