I don't believe I would try a pair of Acaras unless they were the only occupants.In a 75 or 80 gal ,,maybe. I would also try and aquire an Acara that was larger than the convict. She may wish to assert herself with the new arrival to let it know whose the boss.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

I have a 55 gallon tank with a green terror and a firemouth and is seems to work out great. I think you could do a blue acara and a convict unless your convict is a nasty one. Maybe you pair your convict then add some interesting topwater fish like marbeled hatchets. The breeding habits of cichlid is very interesting to watch. Just something to think about.


1077- I have seen convicts pushing six inches. Don't they get bigger than three?
