Stocking 29 gallon with only one angelfish?

Hello! I am currently stocking my 29 gallon and am doing research on whether or not one angelfish would be suitable with maybe some gouramis and raspbora tetras. If this is ok, how many gouramis should i look into buying? I was thinking like a trio, one male and two females...and a group of about 7-8 raspboras.

I was also wondering if female bettas, like maybe three could be added or would this be too much?

& i have no idea on a sucker fish...

Thanks so much :D

Welcome to Fishforum.com.

Do you have pics of rasbora tetras? Rasboras are from Asia whereas tetras are from South America and Africa unless you are referring to the Sawbwa resplendens?

A trio of sparkling gouramis should be fine but angelfish will need to be avoided. Besides, it'll look cramped in your tank anyway considering these grow to 6 inches in body diameter. Avoid the bettas if you wish to keep gouramis. Even female bettas can act like their male counterparts making them hard to predict how they will behave.

As for sucker fish, try otos, bristlenose pleco or Panaque maccus.

I second the Bristlenose Pleco or Oto recommendation.

Oto's are neat little guys that stay very small, I have 6 in my main tank with gouramis, swordtails, and rainbows.

Bristlenose plecos are very cool looking (they don't get the bristles on their noses until they grow up a bit) and they don't get huge like a lot of other plecos.

You could definitely get 3 gouramis (no giant gouramis please, they really do get giant) and a school of raspboras or tetras (6-9 of em). I'm partial to harlequin raspboras myself, I have a school of 6 bought at the recommendation of another fishforum member. They school very closely and they are colorful and different from the standard neon tetra school.

Gouramis, tetras/raspboras, and otos/bristlenose plec would be a very nice tank I think!

thank you guys so much for all your help :) I will def. look into those fish!

i was also wondering if there was maybe one more solo fish that would be ok to put in my tank. Just something else to gaze at instead of a skool of fish and the gouramis...if i stuck w/ dwarf gouramis do you think I could make this possible? and if so,any recommendations?
