Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums and I just wanted to know if anyone was familiar to the "Electric Blue Jack Dempsey"

To give you some info on the tank I have now, it's a 56 gallon cube tank.
No real plants or anything like that either in my tank.
My fish are:
a Dwarf Gourami
and an Albino Bicher.

I've been looking them up but I figure I'd find some more opinions on here.
If anyone owns one, if you could give me any info on the nature of it or how it gets along and such it would be appreciated.

Despite there reputation for aggression JD's are not to bad on the scale of things. The Electric Blue is just a varation which seems to becoming ever more popular. Hiding space is required so he can have his territory, are required.
The Bicher will be fine and dependent upon the the nature of tthe temperement of the JD the Gourami may last, but I would'nt place money on it. :D

Agree with the bulk of what Daz has said. For some reason EBJD are less aggressive than regular color morph jacks. Something else to consider is EBJD seem to be a lot weaker as well, id assume from the selective breeding to get more of them with that color.

The electric blue dempsey is a touchy little critter when it comes to water conditions. It does not seem to be as hardy as their common cousins.

Electric Blue Jack Dempsey

I have had an electic blue before, and it didn't last very long for no apparent reason. Don't be too suprised if he lives a short life. One thing with any dempsey though, they spook easy, so a few calm dither fish might be a good suggestion.
