When they are young, the males and females are almost identical. If I were to guess, i would say that you have a girl :) It is much easier when they are older or you have several fry to compare. Males have more extended fins, but those usually develop as they get older, more agressive and more 'showy'. You may have to wait about a month or so to be able to tell. If there are any other krib in the tank, usually the females will swim up to each other and shimmer their bodies towards each other to impress a male. If there are two males they will most likely fight or one male will chase the other away. Young kribs like yours usually don't show much colour difference until they get older, but the females have dark pink belli and are far more colourful than the male. The males are longer and less colourful, but when males are in 'breeding mode' they will usually have a small pink shade to their belly. Hope this information helps you.

Dylan.

Both sexes do, but the red belly is far more pronounced on the females than on the males. Females can get a deep red, almost purple coloration on their entire bellies while the males tend just to get sort of "rosy cheeks" sorts of marks on the sides of their bellies.

Females also stay shorter and stubbier than males with shorter dorsal and anal fins. The tail will also be more rounded. In the males, the dorsal and anal fins will become quite elongated, extending far out over the tail. The tail will develop "eye spots" and will take on a spear-point sort of shape.

This is a young fish so it's somewhat hard to tell just yet, but I'd put my money on female.
