Severum Dither fish

I have 2 rotkeil severums (thanks rr ) and a gold severum, along with a jewel chichlid in a 110g tank. They settled in after a few weeks, and everyone was just hunky. After a couple months, and for no reason as far as I can tell, the jewel decided to up and change his "territory". It sent the tank into a tussle that lasted alot longer than the initial one, and one severum (male, I think) bullying everyone away from the whooole middle of the tank. I rescaped, and moved his driftwood cover to one end of the tank, and that seems to have quieted things down for now.

If the jewel stirs them up again, would it be worth while to either a) get rid of the jewel or b) get a school of small dither fish? I used to keep tiger barbs with my last 3 severum, and they did just fine, I was thinking giant danios too, as they arent as active as the regular danios.

Thoughts?

Giant danios would work. But I do believe that the giant danios are very athletic and active. (Which is what you want)
Another fish that would work, which is my favorite tetra, is the Congo Tetra. They will cost more but when kept in schools of 6 or more, they make an impressive display

I was just getting ready to get congos for my 55g... I never thought of adding them to my 110g! you, sir, are a GENIUS. I will have my advisers consider your suggestion.

Ive had giant danios before, they are active, but not completely on crack active, like the little ones lol

Congo tetras are great an so are giant danios. Anther suggestion are columbian tetras. Jewels are nasty. I would just get rid of him. Also a 110 might be a little tight for 3 sevs. If they are getting along however leave it be.

The sevs got along just fine. The gold sev hung out mid water usually, the larger of the two rotkeil hung out behind the wood, the other behind the small fake log, and the jewel hung out behind the resin rock cave (or in it). out of the blue, the jewel decided he (or she) wanted the fake log, and its been non stop ever since. Better since the rescape though :)

Rainbows would be great dithers and would take up the left space in the tank. (the top)

Led grow light

Hello everyone ,

Maybe most of you have a fish tank ,and will put in some plants .

How about your plants grow that in your tank ?

And do you have any idea to promote the plant grow ?

I suggest you can have a research of led grow light ,it's a useful product for the plant's grow .

If you want to know about it ,we can have a further discuss ,because i am very like the products ,and have a research it for several years .

soo not sure what youre going on about bud.

Anyway, I settled on green tiger barbs. I was at my LFS and they had 7 huge beautiful green tiger barbs that had just come in. Their schooling antics in the dark tank with their subdued colors just seemed like a neat mix. I had tiger barbs with my last severums and they were a great combination. The LFS is going to try to find me another 7 or 8, though I might go with albinos or regular tigers for contrast.

I WAS going to get congo tetras, but they only had males, and they were double the price of the tiger barbs. Ill save the congos for the 55g I think :)

Enjoy the tiger barbs. I had a group in with my Green Texas and they were very entertaining to watch.

well, 3 days after I added them the severums decided to lay some eggs, so the poor barbs havnt been out of their corner. Once mama sev lets them wander they will be fun to watch lol
