Chances are he is still settling in. Plus young oscars will not exhibit the vibrant color of adults. Sometimes it just takes time. Give him a big tank, clean water, and a healthy diet and I am sure the color will come.
"responsible fish keeper?... Didn't know there was any other kind"
I am not retarded I just can't spell
