Hi all I got a male ram from pecto and I heard somewhere I forgot where that in asia they're commercialy bred and hormones are added. My rams are preparing to lay eggs and i was wondering if anyone has had experience with pecto ram
On reading the post title I was working my mind in overdrive trying to figure out what a petco ram might be, some new monstrosity:lol:. But I then saw you bought it at Petco, so it might be any one of several varieties. Some, notably the "balloon" ram, are genetically deformed, but others like the gold ram or german blue ram are colour varieties achieved by selective breeding as far as I can recall. You will find some info in our profile of the Blue Ram [click on the shaded name]. Spawning is the same whatever variety it may be.
I got a blue ram but the lady said the fish in it were a different strain of rams but to me the looked completely different so I was wondering if any body knew. Also I was wondering if the hormones maid them sterile or not.
