Peacocks camping in caves

Hey I just got some baby 2 inch peacock cichlids and they spend most of their time camping in caves, is that normal? do I need to harden the water or somethign similar to better simulate malawi?

do you have other fish in the tank?.....If so, how big are they?.......How large of a tank are they in?............What are your water parameters?.......Answering these question will help determine what it may be.........Could just be they are getting used to thier surroundings as stated by redlessi, but their could be other issues also........
