If u want to make ur water hard naturally, without kits, then 100% coral sand is great, I find the Pisces Coral Sand Micro is really good and comes pre cleaned, which saves a lot of time and hassle, believe me!

Yes.. A lot of freshwater "no-no's" are fine in rift lake tanks . Like using marine sand, ocean shells, even can use a bit of marine salt! These lakes are freshwater oceans .. Actually are some of the highest salt content freshwater lakes (that support life) in the world . Sent from Petguide.com App
