Packing/shipping advice??

I'm needing to send 2 flowerhorns and a jewel from Iowa to New York. I've done some research but I'd still appreciate some advice on how to pack and ship these guys. I've been told that they can be sedated but I'm not sure how to do this. Something about using clove oil? I'm just trying to get as much information on this before it's time to actually do this. I want to make sure that the fish are not only alive when they arrive but that they're alive. I'm really hoping to make this travel as easy as possible on these guys. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

I've never sedated my fish during shipping so I can't help you with that. I always put some Kordon fish protector and Prime in my bags, helps with stress and keeps ammonia down. I like to line my boxes with Styrofoam and then fill around the bags with the Styrofoam packing kernels.

I've never heard of Kordon. Would that be the same as Stress-coat? Also, who do you ship through? I was under the impression I had to ship using a styrofoam cooler type box.

You can line a regular box with sheets of Styrofoam. A Styrofoam cooler type also works. Kordon LLC - Kordon - Fish Protector this is fish protector.
