Thanks for the replys, any suggestions on a "Big fish" to go solo in a 55 gallon?

I would suggest "big fish" as a relative term. Maybe festivums, the medium sized tilapias, such as mariei, the larger acaras, sevrums. These would be relatively larger in a 55g aquarium. These may also be able to be kept in a small group of 2-3, in some cases.
