i would recommend getting a testing kit......i know you may think its pointless when youve never tested before. But it truely is a GREAT investment!! i use API master testkit

and i plan on getting big tank but im not gonna worry about it when the pleco is 4 inchs and the firemouths 3 the Oscar is 6 and the other Oscar is 2 and half i mite get test i dont knw i was taught the old way stick ur finger in the water guess the temp if the water isnt fuzzy icky or cloudy dont worry and if the fish arnt floating ur doing something right lol
