Opposite tank? Mad Krib, what am I doing wrong!?

I swear I have never had this many problems with stocking a community tank before! It seems all of the fish that are labeled "peaceful" that I've gotten, turn out to be pretty territorial, and sometimes just flat out vicious! That's right, now my Krib, who I was told by sites, resources and books to be "peaceful", has become aggressive to everything that goes around 3/4 of the way to the bottom! He had only been moderately territorial up until tonight, only protecting a small portion of the bottom, but now he protects all of it, to the point where he has started shredding one of my young female Bettas tails! The only fish he doesn't dare mess with is my Angel (he'd be out immediately if he did). Not even exaggerating, this is the 3rd fish species I've gotten that is labeled as "peaceful" that turns out to be very mean. I know that there's obviously something wrong here because he also chases my Oto! Not even my crazy Pearl Gourami did that (tankman12 know what I'm talking about). If he doesn't settle down in a day or 2, or injures my fish badly, or challenges my Angel, he will be tested in the 10 gallon then returned. I'm tired of all the going out on a limb fish buying, from now on I'm only getting fish I've had experience with/kept, and that are not mindless killers!

He also repetitively tried to eat my plants. I'm just going to go with what I've had before and stop trying to get fish I haven't kept. Now that I think about it, all of the fish that were new to me were the ones that were aggressive in my tank (were's everywhere!) . I was actually trying to look for a pattern in all of this, that may be it. If I would've loved to keep him, but I don't think he'd like a 10 gallon full of Guppies, plus I wouldn't feel safe with him in there. Thanks for helping me with my "peaceful fish" problems!

I'm kind of thinking about getting a couple Silver Dollars, and maybe grow them to full size in my 30, then put them in my 75 gallon. I've never had them with live plants though, do they really eat them to the stem within minutes? If they eat the plants like they're a delicacy, I think I'll just skip them then. I can't just put 2 baby Silver Dollars in my 75 because the fish in there are huge, and for some reason my Angelfish in the 75 isn't fond of Silver Dollars.

So they eat plants like cows?(lol) While they are schooling fish, they don't need nearly that many! I have one that is 10 years old that has never been with more than one other Silver Dollar at a time. He has actually been alone for the past 3 years. He oddly follows my 4 year old Angel around, but my Angel is not fond of him. They are like tanks! My shortest lived one was 4 years old! My 10 year old one has outlived 3 Angels! He is currently the oldest fish I have. He may actually be older than 10, originally I thought 12!

Haha, I meant tanks as in army tanks btw! It is magnificent to see them in shoals, though! However, for 6-8 of them they'd need to have a 75 all to themselves because they grow to the size of Angels, but love swimming around!

IMO if schooling fish know that they're safe (size, tankmates, protection) than they don't really need a large school, or in a Silver Dollars case, no school. And fish can only get mental issues from a birth problem, they can however get phycological issues.
