Talking New Tiger Oscar

I just purchased a Tiger Oscar today. I know I have a smaller aquarium, but the people at the pet store said he's be fine. I have two goldfish in the aquarium with him right now, but my other tank needs to warm up before I move them out. I'm very excited and I love his color. He is almost all black with grey stripes only on top of him. He also has a very thin orange/red tip on his upper fin with an even thinner blue one under that. I was told they grow to the size of your tank, but hopefully I'm getting a bigger tank soon. I want him large and eating smaller fish. He loves the structure I put in. He always swims through it. I was told to feed him around eight pellets once a day. He is not very large. I've owned Dalmation Mollies and bred them before but I've never had a Cichild. Any tips are welcome! Thank you!

P.S. You can contact me at It's easier for me to respond that way but I will check here, too. :D

they dont grow to the size of the tank, and if you have a small tank, it will quickly outgrow your tank. you should look into buying a 75g tank for it in the near future

He will definately need a 55-75 gallon aquarium. He may be fine for now but will be stressed in such a small space when he grows bigger, which will not take long.

14gallon(heavily planted)- 1 Blue Ram, 5 Green Tiger Barbs, 1
Spotted Raphael Catfish, 1 Bumble Bee Catfish, 2 Golden
Chinese Algae Eater
1gallon- Blue/Orange Betta-male
Large Vase #1- Blue/Yellow Betta-male
Large Vase #2- Blue/Black Betta-male

He's completely changed color now.. I'm a little confused. Now he has blue by his gills and his stripes go all the way down. If he didn't have the other colors he'd look like a sheephead but he also has a dark spot in the middle of the base of his tail.

I'll try. What's the format code I need to post a picture here? I have a picture of what he used to look like. He's not eating either.. He doesn't realize the food floats.. We got sinking food today but he only ate one piece as it fell because he saw it and then he hid.. I looked in there again and I can't get the other food out because it's decinigrated in the gravel.. I don't know what color he is, though because now he has a light red spot towards the back of him.. :/ Idk what to do..

I don't know what type of fish he is but he does not look like an Oscar, to me anyway.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

Where the green is, there is now a spot, the blue area is now blue as a Tiger Oscar has incorperated into it's scales, and the red is where a pinkish red color has appeared.

I don't know if the pictures are helping..
I really hope they are.
I'm worried about my fish.
When I called about him not eating they brought up the 2 week garantee on aquatic animals..
