I had my water all tested and everything is A - Ok and I bought all the " proper " food they require today...This was my birthday gift and I could not be happier..the tank and fish are just beautiful !! few questions..how many tiger barbs do you have?..thye like larger schools otherwise they are nippy
When you are looking at the fish did you look at the adult sizes of these?

Just 2 possible suggestions :)

Hi,
I adopted my tank so I didn't choose my fish, they have been together in this tank for some time.. I purchased the tank from someone so all the fish I have came to me together so I myself didn't place them in there....I have done lots of research and realize which ones like being in schools and which ones don't normally get along with cichlids and had I set up my own tank I may have not chose to have certain kids in there but that all being said, my tank is very calm and stress free..I went to 2 pet stores today and spoke with 3 people and they all felt that as long as my fish looked happy...were not being nippy or aggressive than they are fine...my barb hangs out with the two skirted tetras and they swim and do their business ... So I am keeping an eye and making sure the peace stays lol

Thanks soo much for all the great ideas and concern it's appreciated !

Tiger Barbs arn't always nippy. Many people have kept 3 or less Tiger Barbs in a community tank with no nipping at all. They do prefer a large tank, though.

yes, not always i know, but figured it would be less stressful on the tigers and other fish. Haha, I had tigers in a community tank with fancy guppies. I try to plan for worst case scenarios..then you wont be dissapointed :)
