New Discus scared and won't eat.

So I took a trip to my LFS yesterday to pick up some frozen brine shrimp and some other supplies, and lo and behold, they have a tank full of blue discus. $5.99. The minimum I've ever seen discus going for is $59.99 so I had to get one. I get him home, get him acclimated as carefully as I can, let him go...and he hides. No big deal, pretty typical for a new fish. Left the lights off all day yesterday, he barely ventured out.

So this morning I go to feed my fish and I notice he has come out, but still skittish and hanging out by the heater, but swimming out from time to time. The problem is my angels/other fish go absolutely nuts at feeding time and scared the poor little guy half to death and he didn't eat at all. The guy at my LFS reassured me twice that it would eat regular flake food, and any of the frozen foods I feed my fish normally...but I've never had discus before so I'm afraid I don't know all that I should know when it comes to feeding them. My water is set up for my angels, but from what I understand the parameters should be good enough for a discus to survive too.

Any insight or advice to help out my new fish would be appreciated.

I put a cube of frozen brine shrimp in, and he tore into it pretty good. So at least he is eating now..he seems to be doing better as time goes by.

Probably not at the moment, don't have room for more. The little guy doesn't seem to be interested in eating flake food at all, so I don't know what I'm going to do.

So he's back to not eating. Tried two different kinds of flake foods, brine shrimp, bloodworms, cichlid pellets, algae tablets...he doesn't seem interested in any of it. Fish store said they feed them bloodworms but he turns his nose up at them. He seems to be eating algae off the rocks and plants, and small particles of stuff from the bottom, but I wouldn't think that could sustain him. Kinda at my wit's end with him.

Yeah, if he doesn't start eating by tomorrow that's what I was planning on doing. Don't want him to die.

Keep the temps above 80 F
Lots of water changes - at least once a week minimum.
Depending on the source, I would keep the pH from 6.5 to 7.0 and the water soft soft soft (both kH and GH)
