Talking New Brichardi Cichlids

The other day I went to the LFS to get some bloodworms, and a lady came in wanting to return a pair of brichardi cichlids. She asked me if I wanted them, and I can't turn free fish down, so I took them and put them in a 20 gal with some platys. Currently they are doing really well, but I just wanted to know if anyone had some tips on feeding, housing, breeding, or tank mates. I currently feed them bloodworms and small pellets.

Something smells fishy

Keep them in a species only tank. They are extremely good parenting fish and will actually look after other fishes fry for them!

They are highly aggressive though when spawning and will fry around, so are best kept alone.
They do well on most high quality flake food but will require a treat of brine / mysis shrimp occasionally.

They are extremely beautiful fish and good on you for taking them. Just bare in mind though your tank is NOT big enough to attempt to keep anything else with them, if these are a breeding pair, it will be WW3 with anything else in that tank.

Best of luck with them

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)
