| || | Get some of the gravel and place in the bucket. Leave it there overnight and test the water afterwards. Check your tapwater as well and compare the results.

The substrate is two types of small natural gravel with a layer of laterite underneath. I thought that both bags of gravel said it was pH nuetral, but I guess it would be stupid not to check it anyway. In an earlier post I asked if laterite had any effect on pH, but no responses yet.
How do I check the gravel? Check some water straight out of the faucet, and then check it again after the gravel has been in it a while??
