thanks alot i think it would b the cheapest if i build a sump tank becuase i found a site when i can get a pump that will out put 600 gph for fairly cheap and then maybe add a hob or fluval 205 that i have extra just to be sure

but should i start all my fish in a 30g then move them to a 50 as they mature?? instead of selling them

if thats the case can have the 30 ready veryy soon with pics

Sorry can't help you with sump design. It is not my area of knowledge. Design looks ok but why the refugium?

because i saw on anorher fourm that u could have a display refugium because i only have a metal stand i didnt really want to make a cover but this guy have like a really kool looking refugium for display purposes more then filtration it looked pretty kool

Freshwater Refugium? - Tropical Fish Forums at the Age of Aquariums

but i probably wouldnt have fish in it only plants and some shrimp

it might look nice because i am using a 30g long for the sump if i decide to go with that and i wouldnt know what else to fill it with lol

30g really does not leave a whole lotta room for anything in a sump. I would ditch the refugium and focus on packing it with plenty of bio media and pack the other filters with mechanical media.
