My Yellow Lab Cichlid is hiding under a rock and won't come out

I'm worried about my Yellow Lab fish. It dug a hole under a rock in the tank and won't come out to eat. It has been doing this for a couple of days. I lifted the rock up because I was worried it was trapped and it swam out and then went right back under. Is this normal behavior or should I move the rock to a different position? Or is something wrong? I'm worried! Please help! There are two brichardis and one other Yellow Lab in the tank.

If all water parameter's are in order then....
Sound's as though it could be spawning behaivor if the two lab's are male and female.
These fish are mouth brooder's,, they will dig a pit under a rock or other suitable area and once the egg's are laid, the female will hold the eggs in her mouth until the fry are developed enough to become free swimming. Is not uncommon for the fish holding eggs to refuse food while this takes place.
I would expect fry to be free swimming within a week.Best not to disturb the fish during this time.
google.. Breeding Yellow Labidochromis for more info.
Should the Brichardi be male/female and decide to spawn, I would give serious consideration to moving them to their own (cycled) tank.
Inch for Inch,, Not many cichlid's are meaner, nastier, during spawning than the Brichardi and they are capable of inflicting damage up to and including death to much larger fish than themselves.
Hope some of this helps.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
