Seriously, I never knew much about them, because they all seem to be bred in secrecy halfway around the world. So each spawning is the result of a cross between two species, right? No F2 generation ever. Live and learn. thanks.

I've put a lot of research in to Blood Parrots. From what I can tell, the fish are intentionally sterilized by the breeders so that people can't steal the market from them.
I think there is about 5% chance for getting a fertile male. I know of one guy that had a fertile male that he sold for quite a bit of money.

It's much more difficult to sterilize female fish. So female BP's can cross breed with several different species. A popular combination is Female Blood Parrot to Male Pink Convict.

Thanks for all the help. Both sets did grow fungus and the females ate them. Kinda sad I would have loved some fry.
