Hi All,
Hows everyone on this fine fishy morning? Just wondering if theres anyone out there who can help me with some info. I have one mature female Discus in my tank and is laying eggs every were,and its ashame that all those eggs are going to waste :( . What if i introduced a younger Discus and hopefully it will be a male? Would the female kill it?or stress it out to much?Also i would like to purches two more breeding pairs of Discus but different colours can they all live in the same tank?

Hi and welcome,

I wouldn't do that. It takes a year for a Discus to mature.
It's better to buy a shoal of juvenile Discus(should be 4 inches in size or at least sub-adult to prevent problems) and let them pair up naturally once they mature.
Your chances of breeding if you get a breeding pair is quite low as the Discus tend to be choosy of their companions.
Different strains of Discus can be kept but not with breeding as you may end up with horrendous strains of Discus fry.
