my convict

ok i have a male and a female convict, when i got them they looked normal grayish with black strips and the female and the orange on the bottom but lately my female has blue around the gills and yellow on the tail, is this normal or is she sick?

tank:1 55 gallon
2 goldfish, 6 mollies, 4 guppies, 1 angels, 2 tetras
6 ghost shrimp
tank:2 10 gallons
2 convicts
2 ghost shrimp spirits

Nothing wrong with that to me. Any pics? I doubt she is sick. Do you see anything unusual in her behavior such as lack of appetite?

i had a female convict and she was quita able to take on a blueish color, especially before she laid eggs.

she really hasnt had a lack of appitite, i feed her lunch and she piged out barly letting the male eat any, that and when i bought them they fought they were fightning yesterday but not today they have been right by eachother

Very likely. Cons breed like rabbits and this makes them one of the most prolific in the cichlid category.

Situation a-ok. This is one of the normal color morphs of the convict.

I used to notice more orange in the bellies of the females before they spawned.
