My 90g planted tank and its new discus

Had the plant tank running awhile and always had plans for getting discus so I made the plunge yesterday and picked up 6 for my 90 at a price I have never seen beaten. I came home from work and all 6 were impatiently waiting at the front of the tank for me to feed them. Sated they continue to explore their strange new world(their old one was a bare bones grow out tank). They range in size from a quarter to 2.5 inches or so. So far they seem fearless and curious about the other fish already there. A honey gourami is the biggest guy and he doesnt notice them as he lives near the surface. My lone ram is content to pick on my electric blue dempsy and neither of them show any attention to one of the smaller blue diamonds who follows them both around. The other two small ones are fascinated by the harlequin raspbora school. The three bigger ones continue to graze even though they are not begging anymore(for now).

Oh yeah, you should have seen the parents. There are two different broods in there too. I might at a later date when I figure out the sex of each, if the ratio is wrong which most likely it is, I will pick up a blue cobalt for some darker blue color in the mix.

Not really. This being my first real attempt into discus I have been leary of anything that isnt locally bred, for price and water reasons. He didnt have anything other than blue diamonds, pidgeons, gold melons and marlboros. In the future I might expand into others. Blues are my favorites though for colors and i havent seen any with different finnage.

Beautiful fish. I love your tank and the aquascape layout. It's really nice!
I have a Blue Cobalt and she's really pretty. She didn't look that fantastic in the tank at the LFS since the tank she was in had the same color blue background that she was but once I got her home I knew I had made the right choice in selecting her. You should get one.

I wish you the best with your fish and hope you enjoy your Discus as much as I enjoy mine!

He paid only $90 for six. It was in the first line of his post.

Actually, it works out to be only $15 a fish, and not all were the size of quarters.
Bluetangclan stated that, "They range in size from a quarter to 2.5 inches or so.". For all we know only two were the size of quarters. Here in the states that's a great deal for Discus!
