So is salt recomended in a cichlid tank if so how much.
Nope, no need for salt in a freshwater fish tank. The water should be hard and alkaline, which can be accomplished by having a substrate of crushed coral or aragonite, putting a bag full of crushed coral in your filter, using limestone as your rockwork in the tank, or any combination of those.
