Male & female discus?

Hi, so I have 2-3 (can't tell one of them) Red Turquoise Discus and two of them are about the same size but their fins are very different. One of them has fins that are about 1/4 inch "more full" than the other, also the shape is different - one is a very smooth, shallow cuvature and the other is more sharp and deep. See pic:



I'm hoping one is female and one is male. To me, if I were to guess, I would say the one on the left (Braveheart) is female and the one on the right (Convict) is male.

It's impossible to determine their sexes. The only easiest way is when they are in spawning conditions.

As far as I know Discus are pretty much unsexable unless they are spawning.

I know :( I was hoping to get some insider secrets! But thanks, I will just have to wait and see what happens. How old do you think they usually are before they start to pair up?

i have some juvenile blue turqs and of course was wondering how to sex them as well. I found some info on this site that may eventually be useful (I mean when they get older).

but if there is one lonely cleaning some area it is exactly female.
