Looking for ID Please. Possibly a texas.

Was at another local park today where there are Texas cichlids known to be. Not sure if this is one, its different than the ones that i caught at another local park pond. It has the same body shape but the markings are a lil different.

This is probably a hybrid. Take a look at some of the other fish speices at the park and you will probably find the traits that are not indicative of the texas on them. I am not sure, but i would think a texas could even hybridize with bream or sunfish.

It looks like a young texas cichlid to me. Herichthys cyanoguttatus to be exact. It looks really stressed though probably from being held in the hot sun.

"responsible fish keeper?... Didn't know there was any other kind"

I am not retarded I just can't spell
