I have a 8-9 inch Livingstoni in my 125 gallon. He is normal when the tank lights are on, but as soon as the lights go off, and have been off for a while, he seems to go crazy. He claims half of the tank and attempts to mate with either a male aulonocara, a male iceberg fryeri, or a female kenyi. He also likes to try and fight with a pleco thats just a bit bigger than he is. And yesterday night, I witnessed him successfully spawn with the female Kenyi, and shes holding eggs now. He acts completely normal during the day, is he just being a weirdo fish or what? :-?
Your livingstoni will get very agresive. That is normal for them. If i remeber corectly. They can wipe out a tank in a hury when full size. At up to 12 inchs. I would watch him closely. other wise you may be missing some fish. Hope that helps you. They seem like cool fish as juvis but it when they mature fully into adults that things go bad.
I think i have an exception to that "aggression" rule. He tries to be mean but there's a 5 inch johanni that wont allow it at all. Hes actually the biggest baby in the tank.
everything seems to be going well in my tank....and have been for many years.
