How are the fry doing?
Just read the whole thread now, I'm so sorry about your losses. Don't think your a bad fish keeper, everyone losses some. It takes time, experience and dedication to get "good" at this hobby.
I know it's hard, but sometimes fry are just meant to be eaten. I have guppies, and I feed some babies to my bettas, since they have babies just as much as your fish are having them, I ly I have six females! You can't keep all the fry, or you'll go dead broke.
Your best bet is to get the API master test kit, it is absolutely wonderful, and you get wayore tests than you would in any other test kit!

I do have the API master test kit! It doesn't come with nitrate testing though. I did a water change about a week before she died. Thanks for your support.

As for the fry, the newborn are all gone. However, the older fry are all nearing over half an inch now! One thing though: some of the fry are exceptionally puny. They were almost the same size as the newborns. Also, a lot of the babies have literally disappeared. They are just there one day and gone the next. The fry are still too small to be eating them, and besides, they are all stil pretty gentle at this point. I don't see any bodies either. Where did my babies go?

Fry can hide very very well if there is a lot of rock structure in the tank, I moved a rock once with a tiny tiny space at the bottom, well in all directions went about 15 fry I thought I had lost. There isnt a pleco in with the fry is there?

If you API Master test kit didnt come with the Nitrate test kit SEND IT BACK, it contains the Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and high and low range pH as stock.

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)

I agree with Taz..my Master Kit came with two bottles for ammonia, one for nitrite, two for nitrate, one for ph and one for high ph.

While it s not a common it sometimes happens.
Mainly at night, when sleeping fry get vacuumed up by the pleco accidentally.

no, the fry are in there by themselves. the only hiding spots are under the sponge filter where i can easily see them or inside a cave i put in there. chances are they aren't inside the cave either, as the older fry are very overprotective of this cave. in fact, that is true with the sponge filter too. when i was trying to put a divider in the tank to separate the grown fry from the newborns, the older ones would not leave the sponge filter! in fact, i put the divider, and then i scooped the fry out and put them into the other side, but they somehow managed to get to the filter again! i just left them without the divider after that, and then they disappeared.

as for the test kit, i have had it for over a year now, i think it is too late for me to return it
