Can anyone give me their experiences with these guys? I'm thinking of getting one. Not a pair--just one. I find some cichlids are not aggressive when kept singly. At least, my Bolivian Ram and Krib aren't. I'd love to hear all the positives and negatives of this little fish.
I know they do need a low pH range from 4- 7.5 so you would need to take this into account.
If this is for the 55g then I would be hesitant, given the fact it is a cichlid, even a mild one, it may be too much for the small platies and moillies.
I have never kept this fish but they do, do best in pairs or a small group.
Thank you for your input, Tazman. I just read last night how someone's Curviceps was taking chunks out of his other fish. Maybe it was just that particular fish, but I'm not taking a chance, as I'm very attached to the fish I have. Thanks so much again.
