Kribs Eating Algae Only

I just added two pairs of kribs and they have not eaten any other food except algae. I added some sinking wafers and they just spit it out and they do the same with flake food. So I decided not to clean the sides and back glass of algae to keep them fed. I do not get much algae as my nitrates hover between 5 and 7 ppm. I also set up four 1/2 shell coconuts for their caves.
What is interesting is that I see them pecking at the gravel, but I do not see them spitting anything out. Comments on how to get them to feed on solid food and flake?

None of my fish have ever turned down frozen brine shrimp. Also, maybe try a high quality pellet, since they're nibbling at the bottom.
