Question Kribensis question?

I have a male/female pair of kribensis in a 10 gallon tank. They have bred and I have about 50 fry swimming around, probably 2 weeks old. When they get bigger I will take them to a local petstore, but I would like to keep one to watch it grow up. Since the pair chased after fish in my community tank I don't want to put it in there. I was wondering if this baby that I keep could learn to live in peace with a betta and 3 ADF's. The betta/frogs are currently in a seperate 5 gal but I would like to cut down on tanks. What do you think?

I think the krib would be too much for those fish especially in such a small tank.

Yeah, I think a 5g would be too small for an adult kribensis, especially with the other fish. In my experience, kribs also don't really get along with anabantids.

What's in your community tank? Single kribs are a lot less aggressive than a breeding pair, so the single fry might be fine in there in his own.

Oh sorry I meant have 1 krib w/ betta and frogs in 10 gallon. community is way overstocked but has: angelfish, gouramis, 5 female bettas (don't fight), cories, pleco, rainbow shark, tetras, platies.

You could try it, but it might be risky so be ready with the net. If they got in a fight I don't think it'd end well for the betta, and a krib could do a lot of damage pretty quickly. If they're both pretty non-confrontational it might work out but I'd be very wary.

You may be able to keep the krib in there but i still think it would stress your tankmates alot. Plus I think eventually it would outgrow the tank.
