okay, so I have a male krib he is about 4 cm long, I also have 2 smaller females which are about 2.5 cm long... and nobody seems to get along. They all kind of do their own thing, sometimes the females will hang out together, but if any of the females go near the male wherever he happens to be hiding he will chase them away to the other side of the tank. He HATES them. but, if I take out the girls for a day or so and then put them back with him, he's all lovey dovey around them for about an hour or two, and the girls will follow him around a bit as well, he will like shake and kink his tail fin all funny (kind of like he's winding up to slap her with it, but never does) then after a while, he starts hating them again. I don't understand this love/hate relationship! I'm wondering if it's the size difference, I've also considered moving the 2 smaller females back to the other tank and introducing a new larger female to the 30g with the male. Any suggestions for happier kribs?
I've attatched a couple links to various short videos of my kribs and their "love/hate" relationship:
the first one doesn't really show much, just a short clip of the male looking at the females, I stopped recording because my bf said something funny... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA4BdEhNCC0
this one shows when my male will chase a female to the other side of the tank, I got scared he was going to hurt her so I stopped filming to watch more carefully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=516AguzGkZ0
