Keeping Discus

We have a 40 gallon breeder planted with a sand substrate, two T5 tubes and a 50 gallon HOB filter.

We are considering discus, but they are an expensive social fish and there isn't room for more than four.
My experience with angels and other cichlids makes me fear that in a small group there would be fights.

Has anyone experience with discus in small groups?

Thanks.

I don't have discus experience, but from what i've read, they need a fairly large tank for a shoal, and they are quite sensitive.

here's a link to TFK's old profile, since i don't think the new discus profile is up yet
