Introducing Yellow Lab to my Non-African Tank
Introduced a Electric Yellow 2" to my tank after researching a bit about them, being fairly tame as far as Africans go and quite easy to look after. The 'main players' in my tank are a Jack Dempsey 2.5", 2 Firemouths 2" and a Red Tail Black Shark 2.5". Being an alkaline tank I gave it a shot. Suprisingly the JD doesn't bother with her (I think it's a she). Her only emeny is the RTBS who seems to have an issue with her bright colors or something and chases her. She spends most of her time hiding in my shipwreck. I know they like caves but do they usually spend the majority of their time hiding?
I tryed once to introduce 3 African cichlids to my salvini and JD and were killed over night, all 3. they were Peacock cichlids and were larger than both the salvini and Jd at the time .

For Lake Malawaiin Cichlids I would suggest not having a tank smaller than 55 gallons to keep most of the species. Yellow Labs tend to be actually a more passive species in comparison to others from the lake and most of the species can do quite severe damage if terroritorial agression is not monitored.
