Hello and welcome to the forum

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

a good quality ciclid pellet is all you need! maybe some treats too. but new life spectrum or colbalt ciclid pellets are the way to go. as for treats you can feed small pieces of frozen fish or shrimp. defrost them first before feeding tho. ive also heard of people feeding snails as well.

oh. i would like to post a link to a very informative site that helped me decide on what food to choose but unfortunately its from another forum. its not a thread. just google fish "food reviews" it should be the very first. oscarfishdotcom. has ratings on every food. stating why rating was giving and the pros and cons of the food.

no advise from me as i've never kept them..just wanted
to say hello and welcome, and don't forget to post pictures of the
scenery please

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
