Hey if you could answer some of these questions it could help me and others better answer your question.

What size Tank?

How many of each fish?

You said the first yellow lab died because it was bullied? Did you see blood?

Are your fish acting weird in any way? Do they have any physical signs that could give a clue to what this is...both the live and dead ones?

Could this be a disease? or do you really think that it was an attack?

Do you have a video of their behavior that we could see?

I am sorry for your loss and hope someone can help.

55 gallon tank and 4 of each. well 2 yellow labs and 3 zebras left now. didnt see any blood but was missing scales. No visible clues at all. Everyones acting normal. I did use clay pots and some outside rocks i bought from home depot for the tank but i did the vinger thing and didnt do anything and i washed them all off with water before putting in the tank but its been in there from the beginning tanks about 6months old give or tank but was converted to cichlids about 2 weeks ago? roughly

Yellow Labs and Red Zebra are notorious for cross breeding. It is possible the larger Zebra was trying to mate with the smaller Yellow Labs, they do breed at a young age.

This could explain the reason for the deaths. Am sorry to hear you lost fish

What are your water parameter readings for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate?

Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0. just very annoying the cichlids are growing on me i like how each one has a personality. mm thats true with the red zebra one is bigger. should i remove him?

erm, I am concerned that your reading for Nitrate is 0, unless you have a heavily planted tank then you should be seeing nitrate and with Cichlids this can get high quickly.

Which test kit do you have?

OK. It does not say it in the instructions but Bottle #2 of the Nitrate test is prone to separating. Shake the bottle for a full 2 minutes before adding it to the test tube.
