how many fish in a 33 gallons tank

Hi there
i got a 33 gallons tank and i like to know how many fish i can put in

i already have 5 cichlids 4 yellow peackock ( 2 couple) and 1 pseudrotropheus red top .... male et kill is female the idiot hahahaha

+ 3 algae eater 1 big and 2 small ....

how many more i can add and how to make them reproduce.....

its more complicated than a specific number of fish for the gallons. first you have to take into consideration how much waste fish will produce. But also certain fish swim in diff areas of the tank, some require more room to swim happily, and some get territorial under crowded conditions. also, most fish are small when you get them, but will grow large. you need to plan for the full grown size of the fish, not the size they are now. ROUGH guideline is 1 inch of fish per gallon- but that is very rough and not a solid rule...actually its more like a myth... your tank is probably already over capacity- 3 algae eaters i am assuming are plecos?? they get pretty darn big.

well it's not a pleco they are algae eater like these

well going very well the 5 of them except they kill one algea eater couple days ago cannot find him anymore

im trying to make them more than happy i also have some volcanic rock ... red brown one .. what else i should install to mak them happy

u need a hiding spot for every fish in the tank not to mention CAE's (chinese algea eaters) get extremely agressive so its a good thing u got cichlids that can fight. i would say add hiding places and fake plants (the cichlids will probably destroy live) but i am not 100 percent.

you could go with some java fern for a live plant. its very hardy and tolerant of a variety of water parameters. its supposed to have a nasty taste so the cichlids don't bother it. i have it in my SA cichlid tank as well as my african tank. another plus is that it will grow on almost any surface in your tank. just tie it down with fishing line until the roots take hold.

75g South American Cichlid
35g African Cichlid
10g Dwarf Puffers & Bumblebee Goby
