Exclamation green terror losing scales

hey my friend has green terror but no internet so im posting this for him his green terror is about 4 inchs long and losing all his scales on the top half him and he doesnt knw why the tank is clean ammonia and stuff arnt high i thot it mite be ick or ich or something maybe hes rubbing up against the rocks all nite thats wut making them fall off i dont knw anybody wit info on wut could help go for it hes up for options just doesnt wanna lose the fish im adding most recent picture of today so u can see wuts going on

My gosh he looks horrible! Was he like this when you got him? How long has he been like this? You said the amonia wasn't right correct? It might be suffering severe amonia burns.

Im not 100% sure though I would wait until someone else chimes in. Hope the little guy pulls through.

i did the fish store checked them all said all the water was fine so i dont knw wuts going on with it any ideas anybody had this happen to them

Can you give us any information beyond "fine" for the water parameters?

My guess would be some sort of external parasite.

You say the ammonia and "stuff" aren't high.
There can be no readings for ammonia and nitrites other than zero ,and nitrAtes should be no higher than 20ppm. These readings are achieved through a properly cycled tank with healthy biological fiter and weekly water changes using a dechlorinator such as PRIME or AMQUEL+ for new water added to the aquarium BEFORE adding the water.
Fish I have seen that look like the photo were often subjected to SALT in the aquarium which is not to be used in freshwater aquarium unless treating for ICH and then,, only if ICH is confirmed and at proper doseage.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
